San Francisco Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis tetrataenia) are isolated a small portion of San Mateo County and southern San Francisco. Essential habitat for breeding populations to occur includes open grass uplands and shallow marsh lands with adequate emergent vegetation, and the presence of Pacific tree for (Pseudacris regilla) and California reg-legged frog (Rana draytonii) breeding populations.
